About this tool

Valu8 is a free used-car valuation and advert-check site for the UK, currently in early access.

If you're selling, enter your reg and you'll see three estimates side by side: private sale, trade-in (part-exchange) and dealer retail. They sit alongside the car's DVSA MOT history, including every test and advisory, and a chart of the MOT mileage over time, so you can see the record a buyer will look at. For cars valued under £5k, Valu8 shows a private sale range rather than a single figure. You can add a few photos for a condition score, and you get a suggested asking price and a ready-to-post
